Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to site owners. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the site you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by external services). Some cookies are "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, while others are "persistent" cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. Websites may also use related storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage, which serve similar purposes but differ in how and where data is stored.
2. How We Use Cookies
Calibrate Ltd ("Calibrate", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies to ensure the proper functioning of the site, to analyze traffic and usage patterns, and — with your consent — for marketing purposes. We only set non-essential cookies after you have given your consent through our cookie banner. You can manage your preferences at any time through the cookie banner or the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. For full details on how we process your personal data, including data collected through cookies, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
3. Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)
These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function and cannot be disabled. They do not require your consent under UK PECR Regulation 6(4), as they are essential for providing the service you have requested. No personal data is shared with third parties through these cookies.

4. Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site by collecting usage information. They are only set after you consent via the cookie banner. We use PostHog as our analytics provider. PostHog is configured to start in opt-out mode by default — no analytics data is collected until you actively consent. When analytics cookies are enabled, PostHog may also record browsing sessions (session recording), capturing mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and page content to help us improve the user experience. Session recordings do not capture passwords, payment details, or other sensitive form inputs. You can opt out of analytics and session recording at any time by changing your cookie preferences.

5. Marketing Cookies (Consent Required)
These cookies are used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and, where applicable, to display relevant advertisements. They are only set after you consent via the cookie banner. These cookies are placed by Meta (Facebook) through the Meta Pixel, a client-side tracking script. You can also control Meta's use of your data through your Facebook Ad Preferences at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) | Identifies your browser for ad delivery and campaign measurement | 3 months |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook) | Stores click attribution data when you arrive from a Facebook ad | 3 months |

_fbc

6. Server-Side Tracking
In addition to client-side cookies, we use Meta Conversions API (CAPI) to send event data (such as page views and purchase events) directly from our server to Meta. This server-to-server transmission does not rely on cookies or your browser, meaning it operates independently of your cookie preferences. Data sent through CAPI may include hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email address, if you have provided one). Server-side tracking helps us measure advertising performance accurately. For more information about how Meta processes this data, please refer to Meta's Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.
7. Other Storage Technologies
In addition to cookies, we use browser storage technologies (localStorage and sessionStorage) for the following purposes:
Sentry (Error Monitoring)
When a JavaScript error occurs on the site, Sentry may use sessionStorage to temporarily buffer a replay of the session leading up to the error. This helps our engineering team diagnose and fix issues. Replay data is only captured when an error occurs (not during normal browsing). Sentry does not capture passwords, payment details, or other sensitive inputs. This storage is strictly necessary for maintaining site quality and does not require consent.
PostHog (Analytics State)
PostHog may use localStorage to store your opt-in/opt-out preference and internal analytics state. This data is only active when you have consented to analytics cookies.
8. Managing Your Preferences
You have several ways to control cookies and tracking on this site:
Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit the site, a banner allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the button below or the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from functioning correctly. For instructions, visit your browser's help pages: Chrome (Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies), Firefox (Settings > Privacy & Security), Safari (Preferences > Privacy), Edge (Settings > Cookies and Site Permissions).
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request for the sale or sharing of personal information, as required under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). When a GPC signal is detected, non-essential cookies will not be set.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. You can exercise this right by: (a) rejecting Marketing cookies in our cookie banner, (b) enabling GPC in your browser, or (c) contacting us at privacy@calibrate-system.com.
Cookie Lifespan and Renewal
Cookie durations are listed in the tables above. Persistent cookies are renewed each time you visit the site while the relevant consent is active. If you withdraw consent, non-essential cookies are deactivated immediately, though the cookie files may remain on your device until they expire or you delete them manually through your browser.
Third-Party Cookie Phase-Out
Major browsers are progressively restricting or eliminating third-party cookies. As this transition progresses, some marketing and analytics features may be affected. We will update this policy and our tracking implementation accordingly. Server-side tracking (such as Meta CAPI, described in Section 6) is not affected by third-party cookie restrictions.
9. Legal Basis
Our use of cookies complies with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
PECR (Regulation 6)
Under PECR, storing information on (or accessing information from) a user's device requires the user's consent, unless the storage is strictly necessary for providing a service explicitly requested by the user. Our essential cookies (Section 3) fall under this exemption. All other cookies (analytics and marketing) are only set after you provide your consent via the cookie banner.
UK GDPR
Where cookies collect personal data, we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) as the lawful basis for processing. For essential cookies that do not require consent under PECR, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure service (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
